Huey Mnemonic (Detroit) and D. Strange (Chicago) are not only interested in the future but also offer a stark reminder of an ever-desolate present. Their split EP, "State of Emergency" (via Mnemonic’s Subsonic Ebonics label), sonically structures a bleak narrative across four electro-laden tracks from the Midwest-based producers. 

For centuries, the drum and its practitioners have been stewards to the physical and ancestral planes. Detroit afroteknologist Huey Mnemonic advances his sound into a tomorrow unheard with his latest Subsonic Ebonics record, Brainscraatch, a 4-tracker of his researched and highly developed Afriko Tekno. A portal tears open with the speaker splitting ‘Ankhobi’, blurring the lines between ritual and rave. An opening ceremony of a drum circle in the year 3000, knocking on the door of a domain beyond our own. Entering the gateway with ‘Brainscraatch’ , a peak time percussive calling where a high pitched whine of sacred electronics becomes the foundation for a slippery hypnotic rhythm. Warranting a double take for the heads in the back fully immersed into the moment. The portal collapses onto the unknown with the dramatic closer ‘Slipping Into Madness’. Rushing you beyond the dance into a flow state where time and space behave a little differently. Offering his own perspective, Sard shares a jacking ‘Rescratch’ of the title track, leaning into an acidic groove faithful to the timeless freak funk of the midwest. With this release, Mnemonic forges ahead to the borderlands of techno, leaving us with an ancient-to-the-future message, “What awaits on the other side can only be found through sound.”

"Foundation" is the new LP from Especially Good, the most exciting band from Detroit in recent memory. The eight track EP showcases the trios dynamic energy of Julio Dominguez's vocals, Joe Flis' synthesizers and drum programing and Paul Kiry's bass - culminating in songs that are equally raw, brutal and honest. The sound of E.G. exists in a space of its own, but one can hear influences of Throbbing Gristle, Factory Records and Detroit Techno in the rhythms and sonic textures throughout "Foundation". Stallone the Reducer is Sam Consiglio whose affiliation with Detroit's bizzaro electronic music scene dates back to the early 2000s. Private property is the debut LP of his Stallone the Reducer project. Growing up in Detroit, he sipped from the same Mojo-tinted/New Dance Show flavored water as everyone else. Here is where his musical palette diverges. Synth tones, noise, disembodied voices, and repetitive, brutal rhythms. The 11 songs on Private Property are raw and for those willing to dance, they bump on a dance floor.    

Stallone The Reducer is becoming rowdier by the release and opening the doors of electro to a whole new audience of avid 12" junkies. Out through FIT SOUND's Est.83 imprint, always a wild and raucous platform of sounds, Stallone touches down with four menacing slices of neuro-funk, starting with the harsh snares and deathly distortions of "Always Late", followed by the more sinister, prowling tones of "Typical Weekly Funk". "Always Hate" rolls and unwinds its muscly groove with pure evil at its core, and "Cruising The Rubber" gives a nod to electro's industrial connection.

FIT SOUND is proud to present IAMTHATIAM, a new project from Chicago producer Jamal Moss ( aka Hieroglyphic Being, The Sun God, Jack-FM.) Moss builds upon the sounds of his city's rich musical legacy and directs it into an area that is most definitely his own. His sound is expressive, experimental, emotional and powerful. Within this EP there are three deep, dark and dirty tracks that blend the boundaries between techno, house, industrial and ambient electronic music. FIT SOUND is a label that strives to push the experimental nature of dance music, and that is exactly what Moss has done right here.  

Shake has proven himself time and time again to be one of the most original and creative producers in electronic music today. Unafraid to take risks in his productions or as he calls them his "failed experiments", Shake has created three killer tracks for FIT SOUND that can be called anything but failed. "Trackin" is a bangin' disco influenced house track that will smoke the dance floor . "Drummer Downstairs" is a beat track in typical Shake style that mutates into something completely different and unlike anything we have heard before. Pivotal Detroit player Andrés debuts his Drummer From Detroit alias. Both tracks here veer into dexterously Afro-Cuban percussive house territory. Amidst the dizzying, jazz influenced rattle of Shake Shakir style rhythms that characterize the A Side workout, weaving in vocals, piano and horn stabs which increase the pace. The flip-side treatment increases the jazz funk melodic elements.

This curious slab of wax delivers two starkly unique variations of raw analogue house. Marcus Mixx is on untouchable form with the twisted thump of "Salut The Noize With A Laugh". The titular laugh messes around with delirious pulses of synth and drunken hats for one of the weirdest jack tracks you're likely to hear this year. FIT takes over for the flip side for a thoroughly stripped down track that capitalizes on an endlessly looping note, while the scuffed beat cycles around it.

FIT SOUND presents an EP of Patrik Sjeren material. The four tracks here sound diverse and are held together cohesively by Sjeren's veteran production touch. Lead track "Lowdown" throws around a fractured female vocal edit and playfully shining keys over a smooth yet bumping house groove whilst the driving "Trashed Funk" adopts a similar approach but feels a whole lot dirtier. Acidic powerhouse Bill Converse makes his debut on FIT SOUND. His sound is a refreshing perspective informed by the midwest warehouse parties of which he was schooled, but have since mutated into his own blend. Treading the line between melody and brutality, while never being heavy handed, Converse has proved himself once again to be a true original lurking in the underground today.

An inspired collaboration from two veteran producers on top of their game - Kassem Mosse and FIT Siegel. Three well-crafted techno and house tracks created from sessions recorded at Omar-S' FXHE Studios and FIT's studio at Submerge in Detroit in 2016, then mixed down by Siegel in 2018 after a few years of playing rough versions in his DJ sets in clubs around the world. Don't sleep on this diverse EP with sounds ranging from tripping acid workouts to dubbed out electronic excursions!

Midtempo chugging acid weirdness straight outta Detroit. The record has the grit of the early Chicago acid records entering into the cosmic realm. These are tracks that would make Ron Hardy proud!

Under the alias 4E, producer Can Oral created his own unique sound of raw, futuristic acid-electro. The A-Side tracks "Ask Isadora" and "Conga Banana" first appeared on the album, Blue Note, released on Home Entertainment in 1996. On the flip are two unreleased tracks picked from his extensive archive and edited by FIT Siegel.

Vital Detroit label FIT SOUND has put together its first compilation here, all with the aim of showcasing tracks from revered label artists Jared Wilson, Bizz O.D., and FIT Siegel. Wilson is now synonymous with wild acid workouts and 303 magic and he serves up more of it here on the mind-melting 10 minute 'Mind Travel'. The lesser spotted veteran Bizz O.D. then brings some jack to her previously unreleased bomb 'One Two,' which was recorded in the mid-'90s but still sounds future. Last of all is the label head FIT Siegel with 'No Feedback,' an experimental broken beat techno workout with hypnotic effects.

LN000 presents three electro tools rooted in the essence of the D. “Black Elements”, the title track, is a hypnotic journey crafted for DJ and cruising use. The looping pads and percussive bassline entrance the listener as the bed of 808 beats keep the dancefloor busy. On the B-side, “KAH” offers an exploration in the realm of electro funk. Neck snapping snares, thunderous kicks, a tweaked out bassline, and heavy breakdowns can be found in this track; this one is for the dancers. “2 Motor” closes out the EP with an energetic electro excursion. Tight beats, an anthemic lead, crashing cymbals, a dope bassline, and some funky sound design drive this track.

Santiago Salazar, aka S², presents four funky, soulful electro-techno tracks for Limited Network’s - ninth release. Dynamic Allocation starts the EP off with captivating string and bassline arrangements, harkening back to the spirit of UR. Cache Memory follows up with dark pads and a UR-sounding deep and detuned grungy bassline supported by an electro drum workout. Accumulator is when Miami Bass meets Detroit techno seasoned with Santiago’s signature sound design. Data Hierarchy closes the EP with a spiritual universal electro jam arranged to move your mind and body.    

Max Watts, the elusive force behind Limited Network, emerges from the shadows with his first double-pack release, Archives EP. Watts reveals a selection of tracks that have remained hidden—dating back to 2019 and never before appearing on vinyl. UR often does this for its favorites stores as a show of solidarity for their quiet and strong support over the years. This EP is a John Collins favorite in his sets. Los Angeles based Nomadico releases the first record on his own label Yaxteq. The music on this release sums up 10 years of work with the Underground Resistance Crew in Detroit and sets the tone for what is to follow on Yaxteq. "Resistance is not Futile" is an anthem for the DIY grassroot philosophy that is the core of Nomadico as an artist. The lyrics state " We will not be clones, We will not be assimulated" over a shuffling grinding bassline. The songs moody atmosphere, simultaneously dark yet uplifting, provides the listener with the soundtrack to continue the resistance. "Cabrakan" is a storming techno funk track that builds and builds. Inspired by the otherworldly sounds of the Red Planet label, its a roller coaster designed for peak time dancefloor destruction. "Romero's Echo" builds around an almost industrial level bass synth driving its way towards a manic synth lead. The duo of DJ Dex and Esteban Adame as "El Coyote" returns with two smoking dancefloor tracks. "Dream Dealer" takes the Los Hermanos inspired hi tech latin soul template into edgier territory with a thumping kick drum and deep driving bassline. The E2E4 inspired chords and Esteban's wicked solo half way through the track assure "Dream Dealer" will be a highlight in any club set. The flip side "La Frontera" leans more to the moodier Detroit Techno spectrum. The track slowly builds to a melodic hook, a percussive break and a requisite hands in the air moment.

DJ Dex aka Nomadico has written and produced 10 new unreleased tracks for this double LP “The Code Switcha”. It features a range of tempos and sonic dynamics; from the slow burns of “RTD 60” and “909 Soto Street” to the full on energy of “Machine Learning for Homeboy” and “HustLA”. Ritmos is the alias of L.A. via Honduras music producer Roberto Espinoza. The Ritmos EP features the magic touch of Detroit keyboardist Jon Dixon on "Finding Who You Are". Esteban Adame aka Frequencia drops the track list for an intergalactic backyard party with the Chicano Boombox EP. Esteban’s music career started as a DJ in L.A.’s East Side backyard party scene, he then stepped up his musical game by collecting gear and studying the piano. His evolution into a professional musician led him to gigs around L.A.’s jazz and salsa scenes. But he never lost his love for DJ culture and electronic music and that led him to join Mad Mike’s Galaxy 2 Galaxy band through his mutual friendships with UR’s Santiago Salazar and Yaxteq’s own DJ Dex. He’s released music on esteemed labels such as Underground Quality, Dolly, Mister Saturday Night, EPM, Jealous God and more. He also collaborates with DJ Dex as El Coyote. “Rush The Floor” makes you want to do just that with its hypnotic lead synth and a breakdown that will leave the dancefloor wanting more. “Deep Function” flexes musical chops via soulful chords and a perfectly timed solo all riding over a thumping house beat. “Still Here” recalls classic Detroit Techno methodology as a reminder to keep the inspiration flowing. The EP is rounded out with “The Promise” a driving yet euphoric track perfect for watching the sunrise after a long night.

Santiago Salazar aka the Sci-Fi Chicano drops a deep 4 tracker ranging from the deep soulful Techno of "The Queen" onto the warehouse inspired "Mas Violencia" followed by the hands in the air "Rise Up" and finishing things off with the jazzy "Europa".     

Mano De Fuego land on Yaxteq with the mighty Fuerza EP. In 2022, los hermanos Cedillo also known as Soul of Hex launched their Mano De Fueogo alias from Underground Resistance headquarters in Detroit. Their debut for Yaxteq showcases their versatillity as producers. Sagrada is pure musical magic for the dancefloor with rising chord swells, relentless bass and strings that reach into the cosmos. Aztec Obelisk gives a latin flavor to the classic Detroit electro-bass blueprint. Fuerza dives deep into hi-tech jazz including an interstellar saxophone improvisation courtesy of Tijuana's own Manuel Paez Armendariz. DJ Dex then takes the soul of Fuerza and remixes it with the concrete foundation of jaaackin US house music. All tracks were mixed and arranged at the Yaxteq studio in Los Angeles. Saludos!!

Nomadico's "Shards" remembers the future of Techno beginning with restlessness and urgency. A time where disco, funk, hip-hop and electro rocked hood parties via boomboxes, DIY recordings and sound systems. Our culture has since been shattered into shards that must be reconstructed, reshaped, remixed and reconnected. The A-side launches with the broken techno of “Somos Cosmos” then onto the hi-tech funk of “Antivenom” and “Volcanismo” followed by the b-boy breaks of “Radiotron”. The B-side explores UR inspired electro on “Disconnected” and “Electroreceptor” followed by dark and moody “Hyper Cypher” and “Tlalocan”.
